But with the brand new species I turned the main character into, the original scenario got a whole lot more interesting! (And I love the idea of the first day of school on a pirate ship in the South Pacific! You should totally write that!)Brianna Caplan Sayreshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10137299043891966903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265428284848727164.post-65821023806439889722012-12-12T17:46:55.665-05:002012-12-12T17:46:55.665-05:00Changing a character's gender or species can i...Changing a character's gender or species can inspire a whole series of changes in a manuscript. Also, you can spice up a relatively common storyline by playing with the setting. The first day of school in Randolph, NJ pales in comparison with the first day of school on a pirate ship in the South Pacific!Sharon Wildey Callehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11269545800323479789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265428284848727164.post-1301833956967085282012-12-12T12:11:04.121-05:002012-12-12T12:11:04.121-05:00Oh my goodness! Maybe I should try it more often! A name change definitely made sense in this case because the original names were so very generic. (They kept on bothering me every time I read through my manuscript, but somehow reading that wonderful blog post helped to "unstick" me enough to make a much needed change. :o) )Brianna Caplan Sayreshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10137299043891966903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265428284848727164.post-17122810025551467862012-12-11T11:08:38.946-05:002012-12-11T11:08:38.946-05:00Names are sooooooo important to me.
